Sad,
But True
|
|
| These are just a few of the sad cases we face every day...... | |

This is Roothless, soon to be toothless.
Brought in by a lady who thought this condition was okay for him to
live with! Once soughted (both ends), would make an ideal house Rabbit. |

This is how Pebbles was brought into the centre, overgrown nails, matts on feet, and covered in dried faeces which left her very sore down below. |
![]() |
The hutch she had been living in for 3 years was only 3ft 6 long by 21inches, we will keep you updated on her progress. |
![]() |
This is how not to look after your Guinea Pig, owner brought Scarlet from a Petshop and thought it okay to put her in the others. After being attacked for a week, she came into Animal Lifeline, traumatised and covered from head to foot in scars as you can see. |
![]() |
This is Topper, came from a house in Tooting (1 of 8) obviously these rabbits had been running together and fighting, owner missed Topper's injuries ie absess which was from the top of his shoulder - all the way round to his chest. |
![]() |
He is now under the VET, we will
update you with his progress. This absess is due to ONE rabbit bite and left un-noticed. |
![]() |
This is Fritz, (Also came from the same house in Tooting) left in a hutch for god knows how long! As you can see by his overgrown nails. |
![]() |
This is Lola, came in via RSPCA,
after been rescued from a Greyhound. Notice the missing bits of ears!!! NOW HOMED! |
![]() |
This is Purley, who came from Purley, kept in a SINGLE guineapig hutch (2'x18") for 6 months, not allowed out as she used to chew the owner's carpet. Please note her nails, she was also grossly over-weight, as she could not turn around. |

This is how Merlin was returned to the centre after just two weeks in his new home with the poorest excuse we have heard yet- dare we say any more. |
![]() |
Merlin has now been treated, and has been rehomed to Sue & Mick - See Feedback.....Thank you so much Sue and Mick - we know that his new home will be for the rest of his life. |
|
|
Name: Little Hope Age: Unknown Sex: Female How sad to think, someone allowed this pig to get into this condition, abandoned with the worst case of mange (fur loss caused by mites) we ever had seen. |
![]() |
Such a bad case of Bumble foot, that she was unable to walk, currently being treated by the centre's Vet. NB: This is going to be a long haul, keep your fingers crossed that she will make it. We will keep you updated |
![]() |
This is how we found Barley, his teeth were so long, when clipped, they left a dent on his nose. He was saved in time, from his filthy living conditions. |
![]() |
Barley, 3 weeks after he had his front teeth out, alot happier, and has now gone to a new home as a house rabbit to be paired with a female who also has no front teeth, we will keep you updated with his progress. |
![]() |
This is the condition of Barley's Hutch, the only bedding he had to sleep on was his own droppings, which was full of maggots. |
![]() |
This is Dotty, the other rabbit that came out of the same house, who is now with another rescue. |
![]() |
Shandy is a 3 year old female lop, not brought in by her owner, but, by her neighbour as we presumed she was too ashamed by the state of the rabbit's eye, she was taken to the vet asap, where the vet said the condition of the eye had been present for months, will keep you updated with her progress. |
